Abbey Golf Course
Hi
I played Abbey Golf Course Sunday just gone and I have to say the greens are in such a bad way worse than last year. They will never be ready for the North South match, the ball just goes off in different directions.
But they have added to new holes they will be ready.
Not sure if I want to pay £115 for two days golf on greens that look like someone gone mad with a wedge.

Phil, I'd purposely chose June to try and get the best course conditions. So there is still over 4 months until the event takes place.
I take your comments on board and it doesn't sound great. I'll get in touch with the course tomorrow and find out what plans they have for the course maintenance over the next few months.

I am sure that switching to June for this event will be a positive move. I was very outspoken about the course last year as it really was a quagmire, but even that improved by the time we played.
I expect we will all be complaining that the greens are too hard, cannot stop the ball on them and every putt disappears off the green.
Really the course is irrelevant, it is the event that is the star.

Have to agree with John - plus when you think about it, dinner bed and breakfast for £89 isn't bad....then you chuck in the golf too and everyones a winner.
The course is usually very good in the summer though.

Don't think the greens are going to be much of a concern as the South will be conceeding most holes before we reach the green anyway

There is plenty of time for the greens to improve.
I don't think the grass has started to grow again yet, and it's probably to wet for them to be rolled.
You will be amazed at how quickly they will improve once the sun starts to shine and they dry out a bit.
