First win

I have just recieved confirmation that I have won the monthly medal for the first time. I spent the back end of last year playing comps and never got anywhere near the top so I am chuffed to bits to start this season with a win and am now hoping to crack on and reduce my club handicap to meet that of Golfshake

1 question i have is what prize do other clubs give the winner of the monthly medal i have not been down to my club yet to find out what we get.

The winner of the monthly medal at my club gets £10 put into their 2's account in the pro shop but more importantly it gains them entrance into The Masters at my course. Various comps throughout the year can gain you entrance into regional finals. Your top 3 results in the monthly medals are added up (gross scores) and the top 32 are then entered into the club championship over 2 days. Basically the prize is different for each month but the financial side of it is always £10 with £5 for second at my club. Majors are different though with a trophy or shield and a more substantial amount in the 2's account or voucher etc. We found that people would rather do this than literaly get a medal to gather dust for winning the monthly medal.

When I won my division at my club I got presented with a crystal glass & entry into the Final Medal at the end of the season.

Congratulations on your first win.

During the summer months, when the medal is strokeplay the winner gets a medal in a nice presentation case.

During the winter months, when the medal is stableford there is no medal.

We pay £3 each to enter the medal, so much of this is kept and goes towards the competition committee.  The balance is then divided into three prizes. 

The more players that participate in the competiton the more money you win.  This is put in the pro shop so you can purchase items as and when you need them.

Everyone who wins a medal also plays for the 'Gold Medal' at the end of the season.
