Which course to play in Sussex
Hi all
With the weather looking good for tomorrow and injuries healing well, i am looking to play either Crowborough Beacon or Ham manor with old friends.
Have played neither course so was looking for any advice or views on which to play.
Many thanks if anybody takes the time to reply.
Tim.

Hi Tim, what a decision to have to make, both courses are excellent but my preference would have to be for Crowborough, it is a fantastic course and I am sure you will enjoy playing it. First rate greens, plenty of heather. Crowborough will definitely be in better condition as it is a heathland course but having said that you would not be disappointed with Ham Manor. I have a friend who is a member there and plays for Sussex.

We played Crowborough Beacon, and what a great choice we made.
Fantastic course with so many great holes.
We have actually been back twice since as we enjoyed it so much.
If you ever get a chance to play it, you will know what i mean as soon as you walk onto the first tee.
Will play Ham manor in summer as they were still on temp greens due to amount of rain !!

I knew you would enjoy Crowborough, Tim. I have been going there, on and off, for many years now. A great course indeed.

Hi john, i reckon that Crowborough is a good mix of Berkhamstead (where i played as a junior) and Hankley Common where my father is a member now.
It is now definately one of my favourite courses in Sussex.
East Sussex national is too comercial and Waterfall at Mannings is no where near as good as they think it is !!!!
Yet to play West Sussex, but will let you know when i find a member to introduce me LOL.

Chartham park is a very good course but havnt played there for a year or 2. Tilgate forest is fantastic in the summer even though it council run. Rookwood is pretty good all year round and the back 9 is a good test so get your points going out.
