1st Round since 26th November and its my Best Ever????
So how does that work? The 1st time I've played on the course since 26th November last year and I go out and shoot the lowest gross score I've ever had on my Home Course. Never shot 68 ever, think my best score was 70 previously. Also more amazing to me was having 5 gross Birdies in the round. I never ever make Birdies. How do you suddenly go from chopping about to being almost tour pro standard when you haven't played?
I think I've hit balls on the range 3 times since my last game in November. I'm supposed to start having lessons starting tomorrow evening. So bit confused by how I've managed to perform so well, especially given that course is still in a bit of a sorry conditon due to the weather conditions over the previous months.
I came out to the range yesterday to hit balls and capture my swing on camera. Then as the lessons take place this year I'll hopefully see the swing change. After I'd finished hitting balls a member asked me if I wanted to join him for a quick 18 holes. Course was quiet empty so thought why not got time to kill. Go out and play and shoot 68.
Wondering if I need to bother going for the lesson tomorrow or whether I should just play the mid-week medal and clean up the prizes?
Having viewed the Swing video above. I think I'll still have the lessons. So how can you shoot such a good score, with such and ugly looking swing?

Highly impressive. What's your handicap and the course SSS?

Obviously the Iron swing has a bit of a fault on the downswing, dropping it too much inside from the top,
Your words, not mine Chris, and incorrect, if I might say so. Your downswing is excellent and keeping it inside from a very upright stance is no mean feat, I can assure you.
A great round and one that you should have had many times before, but despondency crept in and kept it at bay. Well done, I am sure you will now rapidly progress.

Watching your video, the third swing with every club seemed so much more relaxed than the previous two and appeared more natural and fluid.

Thanks for the reply, I think we can all learn from this.

If you have given up your amatuer status because you have been teaching & accepting money are you not qualified to spot your own swing flaws & apply the correct measures needed?
Do you play off 0 in the medals?

I am confused. I haven't seen any reference to Christopher giving up his amateur status. In my earlier post I was curious about his handicap and the course SSS to put his impressive score in some context.

James,
he was asked this in a different post where he confirmed it. You can also tell by the fact that he has set his handicap on here to 0. If you accept payment etc for teaching or accept prize money in an official comp then you have to give up your amateur status.
Hope that clears it up.

Ok,
just that I seem to remember you replying to one of Santo's posts that you were being paid for teaching thus the 0 handicap.
My bag if I'm wrong.
