My round today!
Evening All!
Just thought I'd tell you about my round today!
Played at Forest of Galtres in York, which due to the weather only had 11 holes open on winter greens. Still a brilliant course in my opinion and can't wait to play it again when it dries up a bit! The damp meant we just played the back 7 twice to make it up to a full card.
I went around in 103, an improvement of almost 30 shots on my last round in November! I realise the winter greens and shorter course impact on this a little (lot?), but I was still really chuffed.
I still ended up losing to my two mates that I played with, but that didn't matter to me, here's why;
I had, as usual, a cracking laugh!
You really can't beat a competitive walk with your friends on a Saturday morning can you? http://www.golfshake.com/scripts/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.gif" title="laugh" width="20" />
I also hit a couple of shots today that made me realise why I love this game! Bring on the next round! Tell me this feeling doesn't dwindle as you get better?!
Anyone else get out and have a good / bad round today?

Hi John, that elusive 100 could be getter closer.
I managed to get out on Friday, Draycote Water/Whitefields Golf Club, and although my putting wasn't very good had a decent return. Went out in 53, (par 36) but i was striking the ball quite well, finished the back nine in 45 (par 35) ending with a net -1.
Totalling my card showed that my last four holes were as foloows;
Hole... Par.. SI.. Score
15 4 18 5
16 3 4 3
17 4 14 4
18 4 8 5
as you can see i finished the last four two over gross, less my shot allowance resulting in -4 through the four
I was well chuffed. Of to a society event in about 1/2 hour, just hope i can continue where i left
Regards

That is what golf is all about, having a good time. Last year I was hitting between 98 and 122, obviously the latter were "bad" days but because I was playing with a group of mates it was enjoyable even though I was getting beat by them.
Keep it up and you will be hitting sub-100 regularly, as I hope to!!
