Cleobury Mortimer 25th February 2011 10.30 Tee
A group of 20 golf shakers are playing at Cleobury on 25th Feb 2011 as it is a rescheduled game that was rained off last year.
I'm not making arrangements for any more players etc but if you have a 4 ball and want to join us, contact Cleobury Mortimer GC (contact details on google).
Happy Golfing.

Coolio, I've already been in touch with Tim. What are your tee times ?
Reply : Thu 13th Jan 2011 21:51
Darren,
I think were teeing off about 10:30. I think as it's a pairs comp the pairs may stay the same as they were on the day.
Get there early & get yourself one of their hearty brekkies.

Just a quick note for those playing tomorrow. I called the course today to see if there are any restrictions on after having to hire a trolley with hedgehogs at the weekend. Cleobury have said that the only restriction is NO BUGGIES. Not sure if anyone was planning on taking one ut you won't be able to

Chris,
.."after having to hire a trolley with hedgehogs"
I would have loved to have seen that, a Slug pulling a hedgehog!!
the only person who had one last time was JP & he's not coming. Thanks for checking it out though.
I'll speak to you tomorrow about an offer at the Forest of Arden to see if your interested.

Some good deals at FoA at the moment, we've (CGL) just got a deal for £26 a round in August which includes a £10 voucher to spend in the pro-shop.
Reply : Thu 24th Feb 2011 14:53
Tim,
the deal I'm looking at is £55 for 36 holes (a round on each), range token & £10 food voucher. This is for 28th April. If your interested I'm trying to get a 4 ball together?

Rather conviniently John, I have that week booked off work. Could be seriously tempted.....
Reply : Thu 24th Feb 2011 16:06
Hmm, with have a word with you tomorrow mate
Reply : Thu 24th Feb 2011 17:05
For all that are playing tomorrow, the forecast is not great. But i'm sure the course will hold up aslong as we do.
John Flood and I will sort the groups out in the morning. Unless anyone has any objections we will play as a singles comp. Was planning to play bogey format. Possibly all chuck a quid in and winner and second place to take the cash.
Ill be there from 9.30 tucking into Cleoburys finest breakfast.
First tee is 10:30.
Cheers

Tim will be happy he doesn't need to partner with me now haven't swung a club on course for 2 months.
Reply : Thu 24th Feb 2011 17:11
Youll be in the last group with slug then.
Reply : Thu 24th Feb 2011 17:46
Aw, come on, I want to be home before midnight
Reply : Thu 24th Feb 2011 20:23
not interested in playing bogey comp. Maybe a team am-am 2 scores from four if all fourballs.
Could still play pairs even with a three ball by playing "piggy in the middle". lowest handicapper of the three plays with both the other players

I ain't slow though
What's the matter with grumpy ? thought you loved stableford competitions winning in the Algarve and the original Golfshake Order of Merit championship
Reply : Thu 24th Feb 2011 20:37
dazza, a bogey comp is not a stableford comp !!!! might be successful in stableford comps darren but the true game of golf is strokeplay.
That takes nothimg away from my achievements as a golfer over the last few years. I play whatever game there is but just not interested in a bogey comp. Ask any golfer at my club and they dont like them either !!
Reply : Thu 24th Feb 2011 20:42
Sorry was trying to be funny over bothering to read and now see Dave said bogey comp and not stableford.
Reply : Thu 24th Feb 2011 21:01
Im really not that fussed what format we play.
Reply : Thu 24th Feb 2011 21:05
Got to be strokeplay then
Reply : Thu 24th Feb 2011 21:20
What about reverse Texas scramble ?
only kidding
Reply : Thu 24th Feb 2011 21:48
I'm not fussed what format is played although I will ask, will there be a handicap limit like last time?
I would suggest stableford if the max allowance is 18, or allow full handicaps for strokeplay.
