Played yesterday with my brother at Southwick Park and almost had a screamer.

I carded 99!!!!! unfortunately par is 68 so I still didnt break 28 but managed 4 pars, 8 Bogies, Lipped out a birdie and 3 par putts.

Yesterday proved that there is a golfer inside me trying to get out, he obviously just needs more help.

Well done Matt, slowly slowly softly softly.  You just wait till you get to 2011!

Hi Matt.

I remember Southwick with fondness from my RN days. Had many enjoyable rounds there. Keep going, because once you break 100, it's just a short trip to trying to break 90, then 80. That's where I am at present. Good luck for 2011. PS. try playing without adding  your score until you finish. That way you take pressure off yourself.

Matt, it's a weird thing but once you break 100 you'll just keep doing it.

I remember when I first started playing, the number of times I'd get 100, 101, 102, etc.  But I could never break the magic 100.

Then one day it happened and I think the next four rounds I played I broke it again.

You'll always have a bad round so don't be too surprised if you don't break it everytime.

John

The most important thing is to relax and enjoy it, and if you hit a bad shot as we all do, don't get to upset and just concentrate on your next shot, and you will hit that sub 100 sooner rather than later...!!!
