A funny thing happened on the golf course

Some years ago when my  RN ship visited Holland, a group were invited to play a match at a course near Zandvoort. After the first 9 we were in the clubhouse having a bite of lunch when the club captain asked to shake the hand of the player whom had scored 72 (par) , explaining that the club pro rarely managed to equal par. After shaking hands I had to explain that after lunch I had to go out and play the second 9.  Embarressing, but very funny!

Michael, sorry to say, but that is one of the funniest stories I have heard!

Hope you don't mind but they will stick in my mind for sometime and be retold many.
