USGA Handicap - surely wrong?

Posted by: user46538 | Tue 23rd Nov 2010 19:24 | Last Reply

Mine says 12.7 USGA, with a UK handicap of 6.4 - it seems a little high?

Alss, on that page there is the option to show a range of rounds, but the only one that works is 'show last 3 rounds'.

You can't calculate a true USGA handicap without slope and course rating which we don't have in the UK.  It's a reflection based on the SSS and yardages of the courses you play.

Thus for some in the UK works about right for others not.

The showing of last 3 rounds will be down to your account I suspect.  The handicap report/certificate is for Premium/Platinum members.

well maybe its about time we all got together to get the slope rating introduced into the UK. if your handicap is based at a certain course or course that you play regulary then changing to a more difficult or less difficult course does make a difference. I often play in the USA off my UK handicap and if you play a "TPC" type course it can make a tremendous difference to your scoring because of the underlying course difficulties. Lets make a stand and get this introduced to be fair to all UK golfers
