Difference in handicap??

Posted by: user351506 | Sun 14th Nov 2010 13:38 | Last Reply

My handicap at my club is 21.9 but here on golfshake it is 23.7?

I have put the same score cards on here as i have at my club, i have only been playing 6 months and don't completely understand how the handicap works?

My club is in Kuwait and it goes by USPGA rules so is this maybe the difference?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris, we currently have set-up to use the same system when use for the UK so not quite USPGA.  Also on here you have the option to track ALL rounds compared to just competition rounds at your club.

You will be able to shortly.  Years back the hack/work around was to create a 9 hole score card.  We are phasing this out now so that we can hold full and accurate records for golf clubs.

So very soon you will be able to add incomplete rounds, this also means if you only play 12 holes you can record those as part of your golf practice but the round doesn't affect handicap or stats.

Regards, Darren.

Chris,

Have you entered enough "Qualifying Rounds" for the USGA Hcp System? Doesn't that system have you put in 20 rounds before it becomes acurate? Isn't it 'last 10 rounds average but you need 20rounds first?
