Hibernation?
I'm thinking about packing my gear away for the winter and having a complete rest from golf.I doubt it will happen as everytime someone rings me to play I find it very difficult to find a reason not to.http://www.golfshake.com/scripts/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.gif" title="laugh" width="20" />
Are any of you hibernaters??

Love winter golf, it's quiet on the course so no 6 hour rounds and it's the time to implement any changes I want to make to my game.
Plus you have to be a bit nesh to need hundreds of layers, I stick on 1 thermal base layer a t-shirt and my gore-tex suit and I'm plenty warm enough. With the addition of a hat and some mittens I'm probaly a bt sweaty when carrying my bag.

Crikey 6 hour rounds your playing the wrong courses, i generally play at least 12 - 15 different courses throughout the year and most of the time as a 4 ball and i can honestly say Ive never had a 5 hour game although been close on a couple of times. ps try taking your blindfold off...!!! only kidding mate.

Ill be playing just as much as I do in the summer at the weekend, i.e once, subject to courses being open. Its that or shopping with the wife so no contest.

6 hr rounds arn't exactly standard but can easily be achieved in the club major's when we play off the back blue tees. A standard Sunday medal round is easiy a 5hr affair though even though we only have three ball slots.
Our cours is long and as tough as they come and believe me it doesn't take much for you a player to lose there ball. Often just a couple of foot off the farway is dead mans land even when all three of you see exactly where it landed.
Luckily in winter we play off the yellows and the rough is cut right back. Changing tees alone shaves around 500yrds off the cours compared to the whites, so that alone can really speed things up I'd say in winter it will take more like 4 hrs.
The last course I played at there was uproar if the game took longer than 4 1/2 hours but that was to long for the course where as 4 1/2 is probably what a Sunday medal should be played at my new club in th summer.

I'll be playing at least 3 times a month & maybe more if I can get away with it. Mind you got a 3 day break booked at the end of the month http://www.golfshake.com/scripts/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/shades_smile.gif" title="cool" />
