Should I Invest in New Irons
I bought my current set of irons 10 years go - they are a set of Browning oversized cavilty back irons and were the chepest available in American Golf at that time. The first 7 years with them I only played golf ocasionlly - perhaps 2 or 3 times a year. It is only in the past 3 years that I have joined a club and started playing regularly and it is only within the last month that I have finally been confident enough to submit for a handicap - which came back at 20. I am keen now to impove my game and start getting this handicap down. Would purchasing a new, modern, more expensve set of irons help me at this stage or should I just continue to work away with what i have got for now. What advantage (if any) would a new set of irons give me at this stage. Perhaps a few lessons and practice is all I need and the effect of new irons would only be minimal.
What do you think ?
I am looking at (although havent yet tried out) Yonex VMX - are these suitable for my handicap.

Looking at the reviews they seem suited and the reviews are very promising. but you should still try as many sets as poss on a driving range to see the flight and distance. also if you end up buying from american golf ask them to knock £50 off or give you a free hybrid to replace the 3 iron ( which isn't in the set ). they will probably do a deal. I just bought a 3 wood and got £10 knocked off just for asking and it was already reduced to £79.99 so I got it for £69.99.
good luck.
