County Golf League and Cancer Research UK

Posted by: user131525 | Fri 24th Sep 2010 08:31 | Last Reply

Many Golfshakers may well be aware that CGL have been raising money for Cancer Research UK since October last year.  We've had putting competitions at all our league events and our charity day "Golf for Life" was held on July 17th and attended by 85 golfers in total, including many from this site.

The day itself raised over £2,000 for the charity and I'm happy to let everyone know that we've just closed our books and have managed to raise £7677.79 for Cancer Research Uk over the last 12 months.

Thanks to everyone who's supported us over the last year, there are too many to mention individually (and i don't want to run the risk of forgetting anyone!)  I reckon the amount raised is pretty good going for a bunch of golfers that meet up once a month to hack their way around a golf course!
