A Frustrating Game
This Summer Ive been hitting the ball better than ever. Off the tee I hit the fairway 75% of the time with my driver. However my shots into the green from 150-170yds have been letting me down. I
m only hitting 20% of the greens in reg. The problem is that I then have to chip over bunkers so that I can`t get close enough to the pin to get up and down. My putting is OK averaging 34putts a round. Has anyone got any ideas as to how I can get my scores down from the high 80s to the low 80s. (Without the obvious answer of - hit more greens in reg). By the way my natural shot is a high draw, with the odd ball going straight or slightly right.

Practice your lob shots so that you take the bunkers out of play and can land the ball softly on the green.
You should only need a couple of practice sessions (about four hours in total) before you start to see some rapid results.
Remember to practice from about twenty to fifty yards, that way you will be able to deal with any situation you find out on the course.

I'm in no position to offer advice, but do you miss most greens because of distance (front to back) or due to accuracy (left or right)?

Mostly missed due to accuracy, usually on the left - Ian

Russ - I`m OK with those distances. The problem is when the pin is tight to the bunker, ie I have to carry the ball about 10yds and then only have 10-15 ft to the pin.
