I will always remember the day I broke 90 ........
........ I had a few beers in the clubhouse and was so excited I forgot to play the back nine.

In all seriousness though, similar to the scoring the first eagle thread, can you remember the round you broke 90 ?

Completely. Was a cool late september/early October morning last year. We we're playing four-ball better ball matchplay so I was writing down my score but not really following it. We won 3 & 2 and went double or quits on the last two holes and halved them so won the pound.
I got back to the car and put my stuff in the boot and almost as an afterthought added up the card. It came to 89. I thought I'd miscounted so added it up again. Then I asked my playing partner to add it up. As a 7 handicapper he didn't register the importance of the round until I told him. He made me buy him his apple crumble and custard to celebrate!

90?! I am trying to conistently break 100 here. Hit 99 once, and hit 100...but thats it. It's anoying as I am hitting better shots....i just take too many recovery shots (punching out of trees) or undercook a chip shot to the green, so have to take another.
Soon though...soon...

I agree with Lewis and sort of said at the end of my 1st sub 90. OH! ive broke 90. I remember my breaking 100 as it took me about 6 months to do. Ive yet to break 80 and I will certainly remember it if I do it.

Don't remember breaking 90, probably about 3 years ago but it never stuck in my memory. I do, however, remember breaking 80 for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Two of the four ball were playing their matchplay round and I just bimbled along with them - and it was only when I counted up afterwards I realised I'd done it. It was a pretty uneventful round to be honest, I can't remember any terrific shots or really bad ones, I just kept hitting fairways and greens. OK, the course is a par 69 but that didn't really matter to me at the time.

Was that the game we played at Grassmoor Tim?

Don't remember breaking 90 - but do remember breaking 80 as it was quite recent. Event 3 of the CGL summer league at Ramsdale Park (main course). Conditions were very wet (although the course drained superbly) and I shot 79 (par was 71). A real bag of allsorts...

John, it was the game that Kev Mason and I played our strokeplay match.
Chris, whatever you shoot is usually not enough to beat Hawkins, Laws or Spencer, unless you can get to their horses before they do!

Don't remember breaking 100 or 90 but deffo remember breaking 80.
It was a really hot sunny day & I knew I was playing well so I didn't add my score up until we were all sitting on the patio having a beer. My partners knew I'd won the sweep as I'd scored 40+ points.
A cold beer never tasted so good

Yes, it was that game John.
And just for the cotton-picking record I got the same number of points as Chris and Stu at Ramsdale, it was just countback that decided it. AND I was playing my strokeplay game so obviously held my concentration for the complete round...

oh yes i remember Ramsdale i had been praying to Jack Nicklaus all night before and he gave me his blessing. I do recall Tim coming to the 18th green and i knew he was checking out the scores to see if he had won, my reply was i've got this putt for 42 points but missed it and got 41 points, still enough to win though, happy days :-)

I can't rember the first time I broke 90 (or 100 for that matter, and there was a time when I couldn't do that) but I remember breaking 80 for the first time, not the date but the round. 10 odd years ago now.
I can also remember every shot on the back 9 of the second time I broke 80 (the day after the first time). It was the monthly medal and off a 14 I followed a 7 over front 9 with an even par back 9 (inc a double to finish with!!)
