A complaint
I would like to make a complaint ragarding the Golfshake West Midlands Qualifier.
Firstly the course.
There were too many holes - I mean, expecting someone who's just driven 45 miles to walk all the way around a whole golf course I think is a little unfair and next year's event should have a "travelling" handicap added (e.g. if you've travelled 45 miles to the course you should only have your scores taken from say 3 holes, preferably the 5th, 9th, and 17th)
Also, a Par 4 that's more than 300 yards long?? I mean come one! This is supposed to be a friendly competition.
And the water situation. Having water between the tee and the green seems a little underhand in my opinion. Oh, and sand in bunkers. That can't be right surely?
Secondly, the competitors. Without mentioning any names, there were some in my group that could actually hit a ball straight AND long. I'm pretty certain that one of them had played golf on a regular basis. How can that be fair?
Finally, the nearest the pin competition on hole No 7. I was definitely nearest the pin after my group finished that hole, and yet, at the end of the competition, the organiser pointed out that, not only did the nearest point need to be on the green (controversial to say the least!), but also apparently, you had to be the nearest after all the groups had finished!
I mean, I was in the first group! Therefore everyone coming after me had a distinct advantage beacuse they could see what they had to beat!
Oh, and lastly - thunder, lightning, rain, wind, and hailstones? Seems I wasn't the only one unhappy about the competition. Even the golfing gods could see it wasn't a level playing field!
On a serious note, well done Chris and everyone involved! Another great Golfshake event, which I certainly would have won if not for those few extra 35 shots I took!
Good luck to the winners and thanks Martin, Tim and Dave for making our four ball so enjoyable!

Dave,
That was absolute quality mate. Made my evening. One small point though. I never said the nearest the pin in two HAD to be on the green, merely that unlike your second mine WAS on the green.
Glad you enjoyed it (although reading the above there appears to be a little residing bitterness there!)

Considering he didn't even finish some of the holes you would've thought he could get round quicker than that too.......
