distances and swings
went to the range to try to find out how far i hit everything. Does this sound right
SW 90
PW 100
9 110
8 125
7 140
6 150
5 160
4 165
3 170
21 degree hybrid 185
18 degree hybrid 190??
13 deg driver 230-250
Also on some of the shots that i hit that were straight and high, what id call perfect my swing felt really easy, like i was actually swinging and not hitting, it also felt really relaxed like i wasnt expending any energy doing it?
How do i make it evertime i take a shot to be like that??
Shots that wernt straight or that i topped or whatever felt hard if that make sence

Matt,
What you need to find out for yardages are 2 things. The first is find the yardage that the ball pitches & then the yardage that the ball finiahes up at.
When I first worked out all my yardages I only did the latter & so when I came to a yardage over a hazard etc I couldn't understand why I couldn't clear it. For example I had a yardage of 150 for my 7 iron but it would actually pitch at 140 & then roll out the extra 10 yrds (sometimes more with the weather lately).
Hope this helps.

I read a great article in a golf mag recently.
It was one of those sports phsygology guys. He reckons that a pro will only expect to hit 6 or 7 'perfect shots' a round. That with hours and hours of practice, with the top coaches in the world. His point was, why do we, who play maybe once or twice a week if lucky, and maybe an hour on the range, expect to hit every shot perfect, and beat ourselves up when we dont.
Something to think about.
