Erm, is this right ?

Posted by: user228680 | Fri 9th Jul 2010 23:19 | Last Reply

I am currently off 25 and for the last two 9 hole rounds after work I have dropped 5 shots and 6 shots (with an OOB's)

Am I improving, getting lucky.......or a bandit ?

Handicaps are mere imaginings used to either secure a job, money, parking space, or to cheat your golfing opponent into believing that you beat him notwithstanding taking 20 strokes more.

This made me really think about the handicap system - Many a time I have been beaten by a 20 or 25 handicapper and been mocked!  Even after I have tried to explain "I gave you 10 shots to start with!"

Being beat by my father in law when playing stableford, even though I know I would wipe the floor with him if playing off scratch.  When I suggest a scratch match play - his response "Well that wouldn't be fair!"  Why is it not bloody fair. I spend a lot of time on my golf, reading golf psychology books, practise twice a week - putting, chipping, wedges etc.  Then to turn up on a Saturday to beaten by somebody who plays once a month, been out the night before and plays off 27!

We don't ever give a lower placed team in the FA Cup "a head start" - imagine that!

Actually the more I think about this, the more I get annoyed.

Somethings not right here, or am I over reacting!
