hybrid or long iorn

Posted by: user306674 | Wed 23rd Jun 2010 05:53 | Last Reply

hi everyone.

I went for a round of golf yesterday 22 june.I had a real mare of a round, and although i am a high handicapper 28,i find i am very inconsistant with the long irons 3-4.i have been reading about how changing those two clubs with a hybrid does infact really help with your game.So my question is should i persevere with them long irons or make a switch to the hybrid (if so what hybrid will replace the 3-4 irons)Any help or advice will be very much appreciated

regards  tony

Tony.

I have excat same problem...in fact I was very consistant....badly!

I now use a Hybrid as my 4/5 iron and have found the results are pretty good!

The best thing to do is see if you can get your hands on one and give it a try....whats the worst that can happen!

Tony, I used to use a 1 and 2 iron a few years back, I do however now use a 20degree and a 24 dergee hybrid  which is 3 and 4 iron loft, I did not change to rectify swing faults, I changed because the clubs are more versatile I can use them out of the rough, out of fairway bunkers, around the green and when coming in to greens they land softer. They don't however fix poor swings I can still make the ball slice and hook with a poor swing, but I do prefer them to long Irons purely for the versatility.

If you do decide to get one just remember they are not a wonder club that can fix everything.

I am not keen on the hybrids at all, I much prefer to hit the long irons. They come into their own when one is facing a very stiff breeze and the ball has to be kept down, essential on all links courses.
