Read Post Carefully
I believe the question mentioned a Powercaddy - S3. Motocaddy make the S3 not Powercaddy. I personally found the Motocaddy S3 a super piece of kit.
As to taking far too long to play a round. Its a form of recreation meant to be enjoyed with good company. Not a race to finish soonest. As long as you allow quicker players or groups to play through where`s the problem. You only meet up in the bar after.
Get a life fellows. enjoy golf.

I don' like the rushed feeling but I don't like playing slow. The rushed feeling for me comes from having people queueing up behind me. It's like being on a motorway with someone driving close behind flashing their headlights - just unpleasant.
I am a fairly swift player but if you get stuck behind slow players who don't let you through then this causes a bottleneck and the rushed feeling from other people backing up. I had a bad experience the other day with two people who were plain rude with their speed of play. Never before gad I seen two people as slow. If I had to describe the details then my blood pressure would rise again as I am reminded of their ignorance (seemingly endless inappropriate chatter instead of playing their shots, walking together to each of the balls in turn, marking their cards on the green, etc., etc.). The only reason I didn't challenge them about playing through was that I was with my wife who is really new. She didn't want them watching her play through (too self-conscious). Even as a complete novice, she was much faster than them. I would have let the people behind us through if we weren't being held up ourselves.
I like relaxing on the course but consideration of others is important! Phil - what you describe is fine courtesy and everyone (with manners) is much happier for it.
I think I've just ranted!

I think you can be social without being slow. Played a 2 ball monday morning and from leaving home to getting back through the door took 4 hours and club is a 15 min drive away. Plenty of chat and not at all rushed.
