Made to measure / fitted. Is it all that?

Posted by: user16106 | Tue 11th May 2010 22:04 | Last Reply

Iv'e never had a made to measure set of irons or woods and was wondering if any intermediate player ( about 18 hcp ) has bought a set of made to measure then their handicap improved dramatically.

Also has any single figure handicaper borrowed a set of clubs and still shot to handicap?

Dave CAC handed Geordie.

I had mine custom made and for 6 months my handicap steadily rose but now, a good 2 years after buying them they're starting to feel right.  However thinking about it, that was not the primary reason for buying them.  First they were reasonably priced, under £400, second they're built using really good components and thirdly they aren't plastered with corporate BS.  Add to that I got (and still do) have his complete attention whenever I pop over.  He's tweaked and adjusted them numerous times and never pressures me into upgrading.
