My first pro-am 2010
Much more practice required, I was a little rusty to say the least. 2 over at Royal Blackheath finishing with 2 bogies
I only hit 5 fairways and 10 greens, didn't chip too well either, fortunately I holed out well from inside 6ft.
More practice this week before Farnham next friday.

No shame in being 2 over on that course, Steve, Probably one of the toughest starts to any course in the country.

"Want a bit of interest?" used to be a good way to get some motivation.
We used to play for a few quid every time we played, kept the money in the same group and became Battle Hardened.
Most Pro-ams carry most money for the Pro Individual Prize and in my opinion that can spoil it for the amateurs. We used to run Pro-Ams where the Pro's were paid a fee to play and the prize money was attached to the Team Prize. The PGA put a stop to that.
The last Pro-Am I played in, we had three teams entered and we could choose our Pro. My team chose a guy I knew very well and had done well in an Open (=3rd). He turned up over an hour late, left helping the guys to me, and gave his excuses and left straight after he finished (having shot level). I was embarrassed by his attitude and in fact his prize money was withheld. He is no longer held with such high regard by the Multi-Million Pound Company that he let down.
