South west qualifing

Posted by: user16106 | Sun 2nd May 2010 23:12 | Last Reply

Im hoping to play in the southwest qualifier at the south winchester. I looked on their web site and it looks pretty good if a little long. I dont live too close but it is the only open qualifier I can make this year and I have never played in one before. What tees do we usually play off? also what is the format. Medal or stableford?

Looking forward to it.

I thought there was talk  of medal for 1-17 nett score and stapleford for 18-28, I maybe wrong  ? and shouldn't we be catering for the ladies?

You cannot have 3/4 on a strokeplay medal round, David.

The format last year was full handicap stableford, split into playing handicaps of over 18 and 18 and under.  I expect that to be the same as it will have to be consistent across the areas.  It will be up to the organiser to decide on the tees to be used on the day

Should be a breeze at only 7100 yds off blues. Much prefer stableford pts, One bad hole and all that. Just seen its the 2nd day of the open on the 15th.
