Why do we do it?
I was down at my golf club this morning around 9:30am
When I got out of bed at 7:30am (just woke up so I got up!) it was raining.
All the time I was up it rained, it rained on the way to the golf club, it rained all the time I was at the golf club.
My playing partner will play golf in any weather!
So I waited for him to turn up and yes he did still want to go out and play golf!
We teed off in the rain, me in my full waterproof outfit, and the umbrella up.
Did I mention that I hate playing in the rain, and I especially hate playing whilst wearing my waterproofs.
After five holes I told my playing partner that I had had enough and I'd play the sixth hole with him, then I was walking in.
I wasn't enjoying it at all. the waterproofs stop me from having my skycaddie on my belt. Also I hang a small towel from my belt, that goes as well.
The wind was blowing so putting my umbrella down to play a shot was a real pain.
All in all, why did I bother?

Russell I agree
I hate the rain. As I am CAC handed I Wair a right hand glove and all the brollys and head covers and zips off and on mean my glove gets wet. Today I only had 1 spare glove ( cheers Ken ) so it was a nightmare. Shot 100 hits & 23 pts. Does anyone have a glove that sticks like Sh@* when it rains?
The reason I played was because I got a deal @ £18 a round and I had pre paid.
So no turn up no refund as it wasnt raining until about the 6th.

I can play in most weather, but rain is an absolute downer.

Dave , Glenmuir rain gloves (pair) never play around without them in my bag, can rain as much as it likes they play like it's dry. Once on they stay on till weather drys up even for putting and chipping.

I can totally understand Russell but thats the nature of the game.
Yesterday morning I had the same experience in the monthly medal except I forgot to take my wet weather gear and my umbrella was ruined by the wind but we still battled on through and the drink in clubhouse after was earned.
Imagine how busy courses would be if it was sunny all year round!

I'd rather have busy and dry than quiet and wet any day!
Hate the rain!!!
