Getting existing clubs fitted

Posted by: user259181 | Thu 29th Apr 2010 08:02 | Last Reply

I was just wondering if it is possible to get my existing clubs that I got secondhand fitted for me? Wiithout changing the shafts I guess that only the length and loft and lie can be changed?

I have a set of Mizzie MP32's

any advice or info if you have done this would be great

cheers guys

Worth checking your grips too Lewis. Too thick or thin can cause havoc with rotation. I have often found 2nd hand clubs coming supposedly "standard" have midsize grips, or standard grips with several layers of tape underneath to make them thicker.

I too have small hands and have always preferred very thin grips which gives much more feel as to where the clubhead is throughout the swing.

Lewis, when the left hand is closed on the grip the two middle fingers should just touch the butt of the palm, if there is a gap then your grips are too thick and if they are touching too much then they need slightly thickening.

Lewis

I haven't a clue but

Would changing your swing slightly, not be the solution. Is this the normal practice to make the clubs fit the swing not the swing fit the clubs?

Also has anyone seen a marked improvement after their own clubs were fitted to themselves?

Dave CAC handed Geordie.
