GIR on virtual leaderboard.
I was browsing on the virtual leaderboard after I hit a pretty good 27 putts in a round. I saw some golfers had stats like 75% GIR and 1.5 puts per hole getting 40 pts of 16 hcap (approx). This got me looking into it in more depth. Will the computer let you put GIR and 1 putt when you score a 6 on a par 4? Either I am reading the stats wrong or some people dont understand GIR. I would be right in thinking that if you get an extra shot on a hole through your handicap, that it still counts on GIR. IE "I get a shot on this hard par 4 and it took me 3 to get to the green so I take that shot off, so I reached GIR" Or will the computer not pick this up?

Hi David, I wouldn't take the virtual leaderboard to seriously! There are some very odd things happen on there.
To me a GIR is getting on the green in regulation, not including any shots you have.
So on a par four I'd only put GIR if I got on the green in two shots.
