My new Golf Club
Today I played with David Marshall as my guest at my new club, Sandford Springs.
We had an 1104 start time and played the first nine holes in exactly 1 hour, unfortunately because we were now ahead of schedule we were forced to wait behind the ladies midweek medal for the second nine, which took 2 hours. We then played the third nine in one hour, so have played a total of 27 holes in four hours.
Sandford Springs has three loops of nine and the timings are set at 2 hours for each nine so that the changeover at the halfway house runs smoothly. Of course these rules were set up with the modern golfer in mind who takes an age to hit a golf ball.
All the loops are of excellent quality in design and condition, with very fast putting surfaces. Myself and David, come to that, found a lot of sand and we were not that successful in our efforts to play the bunkers well.

I am still a member of Crown Golf, Wayne, but I have taken a part time job of Course Assistant at Sandford Springs Golf club, which gives me full membership of this fine club together with a few perks, one of which is I am allowed three guests a week for nothing. I can use a buggy for nothing whenever I decide to play and if one of my guest shares a buggy with me then there is a small charge of £7.50.

It looks really nice John and it looks like a cracking deal you've got yourself.

Sounds like a great deal for you John.
The next time I come over to play golf with you we'll have to play there.

Russ and Dean, when you want to pop down for a game then I will make an arrangement. You will certainly not be disappointed in the quality of this course.

A very nice course indeed, Danny, you will have to pop down sometime.

Another 27 holes today with two of my friends. Greens were an absolute delight, very fast but very true.

Greg
Had you played with John, you would know that he is out of the buggy, hit his shot and back in the buggy before most people have had the chance to get their club out of the bag! John is alluding to the pre-shot routines (sometimes painfully long) that many players go through, when in his day it was much more "step up and hit it".

Played Sandford springs a number of years ago when I think it was relatively new, it was good then so I am sure it has matured into an excellent golf course.
