Thankyou to the North Team
To my team,
May I take this opportunity to thank all my team who played in this years competition. Wheteher you won, lost or halved everyone made a contribution to the helping the North regain the trophy.
It was an honour and a privilege to be asked to be this years Captain and what made it more special was that I was going up against my friend Dave Ley as the opposing skipper.
I always felt we had a strong team, as did the South, and I knew that the result would be very close as I did state in my interview with Golfshake before we tee'd off on Monday mornin, but I was confident that we could wrestle the trophy back from Southern hands.
May I also thank my playing partner Tim Hawkins who played very well on the day and finally sealed a very hard fought victory on the last green. Also to my opposing Captain Dave and his partner Kevin Hewitt. We had a great game guys and maybe we can go for the hat-trick in next years event.
Many thanks must go to Darren and the GS team for the organisation of this and many other GS events we play and we hope support you guys in the coming years.
Finally, again heartfelt congratulations to all my team and look forward to next years event.
Your Proud Captain
Martin

May I also thank my captain Dave Ley, I would like to thank Dave Ley for keeping my opponents in the bar til 5.30am. This may have had something to do with me and Matthew Squires winning 5 & 3. We were 3 up after 3 holes without the opposition even getting to the stage of using a putter.
I certainly enjoyed the 2 days of golf and am glad my golf improved on the Monday, it could not hve got any worse.
Many thanks should certainly head in the direction of Darren and everybody involved with golf shake for all the hard work put into arranging such a great event.

Bump !!!! Where's all my team gone ? The south won last year and we never heard the end of it. A little friendly payback wouldn't go amiss!!!!!!!

Congratulations Mr Captain! We must all be on the other 7 or 8 threads!
Can we make sure your brother is not taken in by Mr Ley for a third year in a row next year Martin?

Well said Martin. I'd just like to say a big thank you for Dave Ley for building my driver allowing me the luxury of spending a few moments waiting for him to play his second shot before mine!

I'm far too mature to enter into childish banter. Especially with a bunch of southern
LOSERS!!!

I don't need one either. Everyone knows I'm rubbish. Still destroyed your 100% N v S record though

Wayne i didnt see any of the north lads having shots with each drink on sunday, unlike us southerners who can drink them and still talk at a normal decibel level. mind you we were 2 down after 2 on monday LOL.

Thanks & congrats Martin and also thanks Dave for the chipping tips at 3am!
@Ben - I think Darren and Malc would have been up all night regardless of Dave!
