Taken clubs for a walk today
I can't believe that it is 6months since I last played on a course.
I took my clubs out for a walk today. It was sunny but not very warm. I headed for a 9hole Muni here in Leeds that I know a little about. Now I have been hitting balls over the last 6months but only a few, so I was very surprized by what I did.
My plan was to play nine and hope to break 40, I have broken 40 on this course before, playing One-handed. I managed to play the nine in 33 shots and left several shots out there.
It's easy for me because I know every blade of grass out there and I now hit the ball further than I did when I played there daily.

Wayne,
It brought back memories, it's an easy course and great for the short game. I remember many great evenings in competition and the added target of sub 30's.

Lyth, you can only be talking about Roundhay. Clearly absence makes the heart grow fonder. Roundhay is an easy course if you're hitting it well but can lull you into a false sense of security, there are a few par fours that can be driven but if you're not on line you'll be on the ring road or in woods.

Lewis,
Yes I'm just down the road, as is Patrick.
Patrick,
Yes it can jump up and get you, hitting 8iron 200yds onto the 4th sounds like a big hit, but it could be done with a wedge too. Also 192yds par 3 with 8iron again. And talking of drivable par 4's, the 4th is the only one I have not reached in one.
We used to nip out and try to play the last three in under 10 shots, and would you believe it, I did it in nine yesterday.
