Golf is truly frustrating!!!

Posted by: user94811 | Sun 7th Mar 2010 21:55 | Last Reply

A few months ago i posted about how i played 9 holes in atrocious weather and was only 2 over par but had to go in as the greens were flooding. Well yesterday beat even that!!!!

I went for a lesson on Friday and felt i was hitting the ball really well--I fancied my chances in the medal on Saturday.

Teed off at the first and flushed my 7 iron to about 12 feet --cut a long story short i reached the turn in 36 blows -level par off my 13 handicap.

Got even better at 10-nailed my drive, 7 iron to 5 feet and rolled in the putt for a birdie ( only peson to birdie 10 all day) --I was dreaming -1 under par after 10 holes.

Then the wheels came off -and how!!!!

2 drives out of bounds at 11 -run up a 9-still I coud recover from that.

15th hole hit  drive a wee bit right but no bother- or so I thought. Ball could not be found. N/R.

I then hit good drive at 16, which runs parallell to 15-- saw a ball at right edge of fairway and thought it was my ball from 15th--picked it up only to find it was my drive from 16th--numnutt that i am!!!

stood on 18th, 8 iron to green and proceeded to hook the thing 30 yards left and OOB.

No wonder I love and hate this game

The main thing is that you are getting into good positions to start with.

Far more people never shoot under 40 for 9 holes so you have at least done that.

Concentration is the key thing here, keep it going until you sink the last putt.
