Is it all in a ball?
Today, 4 of us played Styrrup Hall near Rotherham, a fairly long course of 6306 yards.
Struggled on the front 9 for a gross 9 over par total. Decided to change my ball on the 10th tee, to a new Bridgestone the pro was selling for only £1 each. Well, actually, i lost the ball in a ditch next to the 9th green to be honest.
Result? Back nine in 1 under par gross, for a 36 point round.
Question is, would i have continued playing badly if i had not lost my ball and changed make? Or was it just a case of a game of two halves?

I've often changed golf balls after a bad front nine.
Then on the back nine shot a good score.
Doesn't seem to last though!!!

Allan, did you hit a few shots and have a proper warm up before the front nine. If not, then I suspect this may have had something to do with it!

I'd put it down to your swing Al.
