Golfshake Open 2010
Just wondering if there is likely to be a Golfshake Open comp in 2010. Enjoyed it this year even though I didn't make the final but caddied on the day.

I am sure there will be, Chris due to the overwhelming success of this year's events. Well supported in all regions.

And rumour has it that it will be in a stroke play format and not stableford :-)

Rumour has it (I started it) that there may be a Northern Scratch Tour next year.
Six sections and NO SHOT ALLOWENCE.
0-5, 6-10 & 11-15, all medal rounds.
16-20, 21-25 & 26-28, all stableford rounds.
Four events, one each in Yorkshire, Lancashire, Northumberland & Cumbria. May even look at one in Ayrshire.
Its all in my head at the moment, but will be looking into it more in January, along with the week-long - three events that I posted about earlier.
I'm building it all into "golfwiththelyth" so look out for my website.

The best compromise here is a bogey format, that way the high handicappers can only score max of -1 on each hole. rather than 4 & 5 pointers which are just a joke!

The GS Open will be back, final already sorted just sorting out formats etc. Like this year will almost certainly be stableford competition. All points above noted and one of the drivers behind having the split handicap division and 3/4s in the final.
For those looking for non stableford competitions, looking at that as well

Me too after my round with Mr Perry on Friday didn't even notice the cold wet conditions. My wife did though when she had to wash my socks, waterproofs, golf towels ect etc

Of course you wouldn't notice the conditions with the quality striking you were doing, Darren. Mr Perry was also playing very nicely as well Certainly too good for my partner and I.

Not one to start the 'Mutual Appreciation Society'
but JP was part to blame for my improvements. Very minor tweaks keeping it simple really does help. Played with John 4 months ago and was offered some minor tweaks to remove the slice and a lot of positive encouragement. Worked wonders, just need to play and practice now.

The most important part, Darren, is that you have retained the information well enough to eradicate what was letting you down. You just need to play more and your handicap will then tumble. I thought your swing was very sound

Darren, when you say non stableford competitions would you consider a Pairs Matchplay comp? Can't say I've noticed a pairs comp at all on here. Might take some sorting out though, maybe too much.
