Tiger Latest

Posted by: user77012 | Sat 12th Dec 2009 00:24 | Last Reply

This is a transcript of the statement released Friday night by golfer Tiger Woods on his Web site. It ran with the headline “Tiger Woods taking hiatus from golf.”

I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I’ve done, but I want to do my best to try.

I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What’s most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing.

After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.

Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period.

More goss, Phil Mick is having a go now.

"most of the tour has known that Tiger's been lying to the world and his family for many years.  The media reports that Tiger is a private guy, but the truth is there's something wrong with him.  He's been living a lie and hiding things for years.  Even during the Ryder Cup we all felt like there was something wrong with him.  It's not because he's private, it's because he makes us all feel uncomfortable....like he's not a good person.  Some us feel that may be a small part of the reason we perform so poorly as a team, but no one really wanted to come right out and say it. "

What ever happened to what goes on on tour stays on tour Phil

Yes I quiet agree with Pauls comments. Phil should not have put his oar in at this time.

Big mistake I would say,

regards,

Michael

I don't think Phil's comments are wise but as Tiger didn't offer to sack his caddie when he laid into Phil a while back its a case of what comes around goes around.

Gives us all something to talk about and to elevate someone further up the pantheon of golfing greats.

To think of all the hype before this, imagine what it will be like when he comes back!

OK, quick quiz and no Googling - hands up all those who know what Accenture actually do?  Here's their mission statement:-

Analytics can improve workforce planning, align the organization with business strategy and derive better business value from workforce talent.

Yes folks, they're management consultants!  So when a client has problems they go in and sort it out by stating the bleeding obvious.  So no hypocrisy by pulling out of Woods' sponsorship then!

Nike have already confirmed they are sticking by their man. The fact that he brings them millions in revenues etc had nothing to do with it!!!

I doubt he cares less about any of the sponsorship deals to that extent. He has made enough money to be able to do as he wishes and they will soon come crawling back when he is back playing and drawing in the crowds.

Having a few secretive legovers will not affect his golf one little bit.
