As a matter of interest

Posted by: user83555 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Tue 8th Dec 2009 20:44 | Last Reply

Do any of you belong to a golf club (or know of one) who's web site is available as an interactive site , particularly with regard to Card entry for the purpose of updating club handicaps.

Many if not most Clubs have their own handicap software for entry "at the club"  but I am not aware of any who provide this fascility as an on-line mechanism ?

I doubt any club would allow that, because the cards entered would not be bona fide club competitions. Clubs will accept cards form other clubs competitions, but these are usually sent to the secretary direct, not given to the competitior to hand in, so to speak.

I also suspect that you are right John ! But surely having the data available to clubs would enable annual review of handicaps to have more of a base for adjustment. This doesn't mean that the traditional publication from competition entry is compromised in any way that could still be retained as is !

I'd be very surprised if 6 years on we don't have this available from any of our Clubs !

ps the weekly Wednesday stabelford competition held at our club is entered by the players themselves - entry doesn't go through any set individual adjudicating !
