Backspin ?

Posted by: user83555 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Thu 3rd Dec 2009 22:01 | Last Reply

Can't do it ! A friend of mine now gone (bless his soul) could approach the Flag with confidence ( from 30 to 90 yards ) knowing that the ball would 'Die' or come back a yard in a straight line to  the approach which must give you a hell of confident mindset knowing that you can do that ! AND NO I DON'T WANT TO KNOW HOW TO DO IT - I DO KNOW - BUT I CANNOT APPLY ! - If anything my ball squives to the right by 5 feet which tells you a lot about my contact with the ball in the first place

.... more interestingly would be your replies with respect to your individual game regarding 'Backspin' ?

I used to fizz the ball in low and it would stop dead second bounce. Today I can't get it to fizz in low, it still stops dead second bounce but I don't feel I have as much control.

Could be the Ball, could be my new clubs, I will find out this winter.

If you can't do it, allow for it.
