Hall of Shame Required

Posted by: user97421 | Sat 28th Nov 2009 16:08 | Last Reply

Can we not have a "Hall of Shame" on the site somewhere, to put the names of people that sign up to events, but then cannot be bothered to:

A) Turn up

B) Give any notice of not turning up

C) Not even appologise for not turning up!

D) Do not reply to e-mails, phone calls, text messages or even PM's!

I could name a few from recent games i have organised, which would no doubt help other organisers, as they would then know that they need to take the full amount from those people, as otherwise they will probably just not bother to appear on the day.

At the same time, if i knew from other organisers who had failed to turn up at their events, i could make sure if any on the list signed up to event i was organising either paid the full amount or were refused entry to the games etc.

After all, without people organising the games, there would not be any. We are mean't to be a friendly bunch of players, so asking for full entry cost weeks in advance when people are not sure of work commitments is not always possible.

I agree 100% with what you say, I run Falcon's Fire and it's a great shame that there are a few people out there that don't realise the work and effort put in to running a society, I suggest that that in future that people will have to pay a non refundable deposit for any games this will sort out the problem. A man's word used to be his bond but I'm afraid that no longer applies these days.

I have the same problem with my league games, so a 'Hall of Shame' would be a good idea.

Thoughts noted and I will add something to the system.

I think as Allan says, it's almost worth giving people a day or so to confirm they are playing via PM or the like and then remove.

Unfortunately we too experience this when organising Golfshake games.
