Good LuckBad Luck

On Monday I had two pieces of outrageous luck, one good, one bad in the same round.

On the 3rd hole, which has a brook running up the right hand side, I sliced my tee shot.  As soon as I hit it I knew where it was heading and sure enough it bounced about three feet to the left of the brook turned right and dropped straight in.  It then shot straight back out heading for the fairway as if it had been hit again leaving me with a decent shot down the hole.  On inspecting the brook at the place where it landed we discovered a large rock above the water.  The chances of it hitting the rock must have been huge but to actually deflect back towards the fairway was probably in lottery winning terms.

Two holes later I was on the green for three about 25ft from the pin putting for par.  I hit what I thought was a reasonable stroke only for a large wet solitary sycamore leaf to blow across the green wrap itself briefly around my ball and more or less stop it dead 12 feet from the hole.  I missed the bogey putt.

Has anyone else had two such swings of fortune in the same round?
