Playing just one course as a beginner

Posted by: user272138 | Fri 30th Oct 2009 00:10 | Last Reply

I'm new to the game i've had four rounds with very different results (today being the best). Yesterday though i joined my local club Stapleford Abbotts which itself has two courses and then i have the added advantage of visiting other courses as a member of the crown group.

My question being tough is that i'm thinking for the first two to three months i'm going to play just one course.

Is this a good idea or is it better visiting other couses?

Hi Dan, hopefully I'll be able to join you again next week, work permitting!

I would say yes, stick with one course for a while.

The art would be to find three or four courses that are of the same standard.  Once you have played your home course for a few times then go and play one of the other ones.

Cranham is a very basic, easy course.  Ideal for you at the moment.  I think you'll find it easier than the Priors.
