Getting golf into perspective.

Posted by: user226163 | Mon 21st Sep 2009 11:54 | Last Reply

Yesterday PM My best mate a solid 7 handicapper and myself went to play a few holes. Lately I have been wayward with my driver so I only used the driver on the 2 par 5s missed both fairways on the par 4s i hit a greens in regulation. Makes you think straight off the tee with an iron  of your choice will leave you with one or two clubs more to the green, much better chance of hitting it fron the short stuff.

It's been said on here before that it's usually better to sacrifice distance for accuracy. Tried it myself in an extreme sort of way when my handicap was around the 18 mark. Took a 7 iron, wedge and putter to my local course of around 6000 yards par 72.  Went round in 85 shots using just these 3 clubs and could have been lower. Stayed out of trouble and on the fairway. Simple game when you look at it from the fairway instead of the rough.

You should try putting with it then David, especially if the photos from the weekend are anything to go by.
