Celtic Manor

Posted by: user104522 | Tue 15th Sep 2009 16:47 | Last Reply

I’m off on a golf break to Celtic Manor and was wondering if anyone had been before? Were playing the Monty and Roman Road courses, I have been looking online to see if anywhere had some course pics or maps but can’t find any apart from for the 2010 course.

From looking at the scorecards on here it doesn’t look that long in length?

Robert, I have played both many times the Road better than the Monty (suprised he put his name to it) although a few good holes on there and worth playing. They  tend to play longer than you think if the winds up (usually is) or if wet. Bunkers are big and numerous greens, enormous can be 3 cluds+difference from front to back on some and are difficult to read . The short game practice facilities are very good as is the range. I'm sure you will enjoy your stay there, they tend to look after you , a little tip try an befriend some of the members using their loyalty card will save you up to 20% not to be sniffed as they are 5star prices! enjoy.

Just got back, had a cracking time, courses were nice prefered the Roman Road was in far better condition, hotels and food was fantastic, 2010 looked very tight from the view we took in from the 3rd hole on the Monty, water everywhere but hardly any rough.
