Highest score ever?

Played with a colleague this morning in his first 18 holes of golf (he had played 9 holes once before, but this was his first full round) and he courageously got round in 142. He's registered on here so don't be too unkind(!) but it got me thinking:

What's the highest score for a full round that you've ever witnessed?

I once played at Willow Valley, West Yorkshire with a colleague (it was either his 2nd or 3rd round ever) and he carded 178 - 65 for the front 9 and 113 for the back 9.  We obviously missed the sign at the 1st tee saying "only competent golfers should attempt this course".  He also managed to lose somewhere in the region of 2 dozen balls.

I don't think he has played much since!!!

120 is my worst score in a Society match when I first took up the sport about 3 years ago.  Played Keele Golf Course - worse course I've ever played (partly because of the score - )

106 was my worst ever score in a junior competition outside of castlebar, it was over 18 yrs ago and when i meet up with the guys i used to play with it comes up at least three times!!!  I swear i hit every tree on the course that day and some of them twice bloody awful

I shot a 61 on the front nine last week in our monthly medal, played the next day and managed the whole 18 in 20 more strokes!

162 at Slayley Hall, and it was'nt me either but he reads these so shhhhhhh!  

Highest recorded for me is 125 although I'm sure I shot more than that in the early years.  Once had the 'pleasure' of accompanying someone who walked off at the turn having shot 80ish - ironic really as he birdied the par 5 first.  Not seen or heard of him since...
