Staverton is an option we did play the first NvS in 2007 at Hellidon Lakes down the round. The Gtour is also visiting there in November - http://www.gtour.co.uk/golf/view/9/

I liked Stavertton Park when I played in the gtour event there and it would be a great matchplay course.
I very much doubt that Saunton would be remotely interested in having a society like ours on their course. Our members are just not fast enough players and they are used to 3 hour fourballs.

3hour fourballs john
what are they doing running to each shot?
i played in a fourball at the weekend and only slightly held up on a few holes near the end, we still managed just over 4hrs and we wasnt playing that bad with the lowest score from the four was me with 30 points

To be fair Darren if we added up all those five minute waits for the four and two ball in front of us (and stopped having a couple of extra pops at the par 3's) we could easily have knocked half an hour off that - so yeah, I reckon 3 hours is possible, especially if it was on a course that we all knew.

Martin, we played Saunton a couple of weeks ago and I can assure you that the old members there were very quick players indeed, in fact we had to let a fourball through as we were looking for a ball. They came through and we never saw them again.
On Tuesday I played at Sherfield Oaks, a fourball with David Marshall, his friend and our own moderator Russell Middleton, it took four hours. IN the afternoon myself and Russell went round the Wellington in 2 1/2 hours as a two ball.

I am not saying, or inferring anything, Mr Marshall, Sir.
