Childs Clubs

Anyone out there that could help me? Possibly Mr Ley??

Basically, I took my 3yo Son to the driving range for the 1st time last weekend and borrowed clubs for him from the driving range shop.  Today, he came to me asking if we could go to the driving range, but we don't have clubs for him.

What I want to know is, 1 - Can I just cut down one of my old clubs and re-grip it? If so, how do I make the correct measurement? He is 94cm tall.. 2 - Is there a preferred club to get them started with? I would've naturally assumed a 7 iron, but I don't really know and 3 - Will this stop his tantrums if I make him his own club??

Thanks in advance for any advice given!

PS - I can't tell you how happy I am that he wants to go and hit some balls!

I borrowed a nine iron for my next door neighbours little girl to have a swing with at my local driving range, it had a nice large head and a very flexible shaft. In fact I could hit it further than my own clubs.

They are cheap enough to buy, Lee, but the shaft must have flex or he will not get any feel at all, especially at that tender age. Good luck anyway.

Thanks John, I don't have graphite shafts in any of my clubs.. Apart from my driver but he can bugger off if he thinks I'm chopping that down!

I think he just likes the novelty of hitting balls, or pushing them onto the range!

However, I will keep on taking him if he continues to ask me!

If it's a 3 iron with XKR400 on it, it's mine...

Chris ,I have a surgeon friend that may be able to help Marc,he can cut both arms off and swop them around. While he's at it good idea to find and turn down the volume control, that boy would give an Anadin a headache and my ears are still ringing,(thanks Darren) even Rossa couldn't get a word in and that's a first.

Good lad though.....

Call that a crowd Marc?  You should try the N v S for a nerve wracker, especially being first off as captain.  Liked the starter announceing the players on the tee though.

I received the clubs today, cheers Dave.

They're the perfect size for him, but he finds the driver a tad heavy so struggles to control it! However, I have already enquired about the cost of membership down the local gym, gonna get him on the weights ASAP!

Cheers again Dave..

Hi Lee, glad they arrived safe that's as light as i could get the wood as its really designed for an older child,  some kids clubs arrived in my clubs pro shop today made by maskers Ideal for your lad and very light little, irons & bag etc they are very good.Had a quick search on the net but couldn't find any info.

Half the problem is, he sees all the people at the range swing the clubs wildly and he tries to emulate that.  If I can get him to start with a half swing then it should be ok.

PM me with how much I owe you.. If I consider it too much I'll send the clubs back!

Just kidding, seriously, let me know and I'll sort it out.

Cheers.
