A question to some of the lower handicaps
Have any of you seen a dramatic decresase in your distance within less then a week? Im around a 5 or 6 handicap and I recently played probably the round of my life at one of the hardest courses in the area, and then the next day I had a little difference in power but it had just rained so I didnt really think much of it. Then everything seemed to go down hill I messed up my Driver swing, and then once I finally got it straightened out I had lost a good 20-30 yards off not just my drives but also my Irons. This problem has really been wearing on me and considering im only 17 and have only been playing for 5 years if this was just sort of a "wall" that I hit or what?
Any advise or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Sounds like your timing is out. I've exoerienced this many times. My remedy is to slow my swing down.

HI Troy , just sounds like your swing is slightly out of sync or your just trying to hard to correct a non-existant fault , just stick to your pre shot routine and all will come back , may take a few games but dont worry , gets harder as you get better , but games a lot more fun , just try to enjoy the game , i just had my first ever lesson, the pro gave me a swing tip to try to give me more accuracy , which decreased my distance a bit but now my accuracy has increased and distance been regained , enjoy your golf , hope this helps

Troy,
Living where you do, I believe the air (atmosphere) can make a daily change of a few yards but it does sound that it may be your "timing" in this case. I have discussed this in length with some of my friends in your neck of the woods. Length at Sea-Level is increased the higher you go but it can also decrease when you play in dense conditions (like just before or after a storm). All these adjustments come with experience.
