What course has the strangest entrance?

What course has the strangest entrance?

or

The most unexpected?

I have played all over the world on many courses from 9hole Muni's to Championship venues. Today we had a discussion about the entrance to a Club and what we expect.

We talked about signage and location and the fact that it is difficult to find some Golf Club entrances. So where is the strangest or hardest to find Golf Course entrance?

Here one.

Its a narrow driveway down the side of a Petrol Station. The driveway (about 100yds) opens out into a Car Park and the first view you get of the Clubhouse is the back door to the Pro Shop and the caddies waiting for a Bag. Where am I arriving? A muni? No. MOORTOWN GC.

Wayne,

I didn't remember that entrance to Mere until I looked at Google Earth and see its now a One-way system. The Way-out used to be both In/Out and the entrance you point out was a Service Entrance (because it went close to a green). Improvements??

I agree Retford is a bit wierd Darren, drive through an estate and no hint that you're right next to it.  Mind you, Mapperley is a bit wierd as well.  An unsigned turn off a parade of shops into a new estate, a little access road and then the traffic light system just in case someone is teeing off on the 10th.

I like Pype Hayes muni in Birmingham.  A very narrow (just wider than a car) entrance with a heavily tree lined drive between two houses that's very easy to miss and looks like the entrance to some allotments.  The only indcation that it is there is the sign opposite the entrance in the middle of the dual carriage way that says....

Driver's Cafe!!!

My golf club is situated on Rugeley power station to gain acces you swipe through the main security gates, go through the fully guarded security station after a few suspicious stares you are then greated by the hugh processing building and the 3 full size cooling towers. eventually after passing all the huge plant you arive at the clubhouse and the golf course. (which by the way is woth the eyesaw on arrival and on the 7th and 8th which end up back by the pwer station.)
