Par 3 success
Just wanted to share too with you guys my great round today.
It was only on a nine hole par 3 course here in Littleton MA but it was damn fine.
The course is in really great condition, has full sized (if rather slow) greens and 2 tee positions per hole giving a 18 hole round. Only downside is the tee's are all mats but they are quite 'fluffy' allowing you to get under the ball reasonably well. The holes vary from 38 yards to 95 yards so it only required 3 clubs. Water plays a part in 5 or 6 holes.
Anyway.
Only missed 5 greens out of 18 which was pretty good.
Was +4 on the front and +1 on the back for a total +5 59.
On the 14th, a 70 yd hole, I caught up and was allowed to play through by two self confessed beginner ladies (typical american lady golfers). I played a gem that landed 4 inches from the hole. The spectators gallery erupted!
All in all very satisfying - all the more so as it was around 95 degrees and I was roasting nicely. Good job my sis has a pool which was first stop on my return.
The only downside was being held up by a slow 7 ball (yes 7 players!) in front on the last few holes on the first nine. It did give me time to play some practice shots off the tees and to practice some chipping round the greens.
I will hopefully play again and will strive to make it a par round or better!
