New photo Paul - -Using TM irons?
Nice work on organising mate. See you Sunday.

Certainly looks like a shower on the first at 11.00am.
Reply : Tue 7th Jul 2009 09:56
Couldn't agree more, Tim.
Reply : Tue 7th Jul 2009 10:07
How the hell has Hawkins managed to get a shot on me????????
Looks like I'll be hunched over my laptop doing scorecards while Tim is flexing his photography skills and keeping count of the number of balls disappearring into the 18th then. And my shotgun is already in the bag for just as Leyo is about to take his putt; revenge will be so sweet......
Reply : Tue 7th Jul 2009 11:34
How long before he says he's buggered on the 18th cos it's 100 yards of carry over the water and he can't hit it that far?
Then on the day drops it 2 foot from the pin......
Reply : Tue 7th Jul 2009 13:46
All those comments means I am a certainty for the water now.
Reply : Tue 7th Jul 2009 14:40
Like you let anything anyone else says affect you John. Although there are a couple of ways to get into your head, this isn't one of them.
Reply : Tue 7th Jul 2009 14:53
- Can somenne psych me up I have a team match in 2 hrs!!
- Im going to do some warming up before I play today and think nice thougts (Jennifer Ellison) The forcast is to clear at 4ish so shouldn't get wet tonight.
- Need me big guns working tonight on the Roman Road(Celtic) will be playing long and there's a bit of wind about

No problem Dave
- Don't cock up the first tee shot
- Remember sharing a room with Santo before the Belfry game? The 'warming up' you two did the night before the game stood you in good stead. Who needs Jenny
- Shotguns are only for the West Mids. The wind is probably due to your nerves.....
Did that helkp?
Reply : Tue 7th Jul 2009 15:39
One shot at a time, David, you have the game so trust your swing.
Reply : Tue 7th Jul 2009 17:07
Good luck Kev Shearsby, did you know you're drawn with 3 other bandits from Newbold?
Paul
Reply : Tue 7th Jul 2009 18:13
I did mate, I was the first to put it down and I'm gutted that I'm missing it but my Mrs is due this week and baby does not want to come out. She's beng induced on Sunday if it carries on. Who is the 4th member?
Paul
Reply : Tue 7th Jul 2009 21:40
Ah, I know him by the name of 'Tiddy', lovely bloke and biggest hitter of the ball I've played with, as soon as he gets it going where he wants it to go he'll be a dangerous player. He always wins closest to the pin too if you've got a prize for that.
Paul

Thanks for the gee up boys all invane I'm afraid worst defeat I have had and the team lost only for the second time all season 5-0 .I flattered my opponent (although a good player 3hcp) by the worst display of golf I have not only played but probably witnessed ,absoloutely shocking. Didn't see much of the back nine.I drove straight to Bridgend but couldn't buy any rope!

Hope so dude, can handle losing (not very well) can't handle playing like a c@#k.
Reply : Wed 8th Jul 2009 00:13
I know David I'll get over it may take a month or two.........
Reply : Wed 8th Jul 2009 08:33
Oh great, that's all I need. What a group I've got now.
- John Pettitt, king of the mind games, short game maestro, expert robot dancer
- Dave Ley, monster driver, excellent player, exorcising the demons of his last round
- Tim Hawkins, Mr Consistent, scrambles 34 to 36 points every competitive round, occaisional mud wallower
I'm gonna feel like a right hacker all the way round now! I might as well put in my card for 24 points and save myself the walk
Reply : Wed 8th Jul 2009 08:42
As the highest handicapper in the group I'll just follow the three more experienced players round to see if I can learn anything - hopefully come in with 15 points
Reply : Wed 8th Jul 2009 08:51
I have obviously been training you lot too well, I feel I am going to get my come uppance.
Reply : Wed 8th Jul 2009 09:12
Not feeling intimidated Paul, played with all three of these before. I know what I'm up against and have set my expectations accordingly. I know it's going to be soul destroying watching the three of them take three totally different approaches to the hole and still walk off with two points each while I try to chip in or sink a 20 foot breaking putt for a point.
Can we ensure the prize for last place is a good one please.
Reply : Wed 8th Jul 2009 09:27
After you have thrashed me tonight, Chris, you will be on a high that will carry you through to glory on Sunday.
Reply : Wed 8th Jul 2009 09:31
If last week is anything to go by John, the only thing I will be thrashing is my way through Sherfield's rough. At least the weather will be somewhat cooler.
Reply : Wed 8th Jul 2009 09:52
Eight hours sleep and still in a Foul mood I hate GOLF!! (loser) .More worrying I have another team match tonight for my other club (away) and it's Foursomes I'd better play well or my parntner wont be happy all 6ft5" and 18 stone of him!!
Reply : Wed 8th Jul 2009 10:18
Chris,
your flattering yourself aren't you...24points who you trying to kid??
Dave, your only as good as your last shot so go & hit a few on the range to get that confidence back up.
I just hope you don't hold us up at the west mids
Reply : Wed 8th Jul 2009 10:42

Surely he'll be able to carry you after all the weight you've lost recently Dave
Reply : Wed 8th Jul 2009 11:35
He has the ability, as do you, no good blaming me if things don't always go to plan. I am hoping to have a new driver to test tonight, if it arrives in time.
Reply : Wed 8th Jul 2009 13:52
Good as done, I'll just modify the 'Wayne Santorini - Southern Team Captain' banner I made for a previous N v S bash...
Reply : Wed 8th Jul 2009 14:58
Group 4, dont they keep losing everything i.e. prisoners!
Paul, I want a transfer..LOL!
Reply : Wed 8th Jul 2009 18:12
We'll put group 4 losing streak to an end when we tear it up on Sunday!!!

Reply : Thu 9th Jul 2009 11:40

hope it clears up in time see you sunday, need anything ring me.Reply : Thu 9th Jul 2009 12:59
Good luck with yours to roomy are you fit enough to play yet??
Reply : Thu 9th Jul 2009 17:02
Paul,
your made of tough stuff & you'll be playing Sunday!! Just keep away from the PC & Kleenex until then
Reply : Thu 9th Jul 2009 17:02
Paul.
I've got a wrist injury and tendonitis in my left hand. Could not have timed it better. I'm using Ibuprofen Gel to play through the pain - might be worth a try.
Ive noticed that the H'cap cut off has changed, or at least my understanding has changed - the groups are now 17.4 and below (17) and 17.5 and above (18). No problem as it means in am still in the lower group but it does mean that I am not paired with another competitor. I don't mind as the groups don't work out any other way.

John,
taking the AW SW and 60, leaving the RAC 52 and 56 in the garage! This was definitely the best combo on Monday.
Mind you, with West Mids being quite open, im just going to grip it and rip it!
Still debating the 3 iron or 3 wood but I think the Iron will take it!
Reply : Fri 10th Jul 2009 08:25
Dave,
The qualifying split hasn't changed, it's just on PLAYING handicap rather then ACTUAL handicap.
Reply : Fri 10th Jul 2009 08:29
The rules haven't changed have always been below 18 and 18 and above.
Due to an issue at the first event there's been a bit of clarification on what the above means ie 17.4 and below and 17.5 and above.
Regards, Darren.
