great game

Posted by: user16163 | Sun 5th Jul 2009 19:58 | Last Reply

i would just like to inform you nice people that i have just had a really great round of golf

just played rufford park in nottinghamshire

really well presented and maintained course

i shot a gross 43 front nine which is 8 over par nothing out of the ordinary i hear you say

i will add that i 3 putted twice and was 3 off the tee on hole 9 and still managed a point

but then everything came together with a birdie on ten followed by a par then another birdie on 12

i finished the back 9 level par gross

playing off my 13 handicap i scored 41pts

go on then lets hear the shouts of bandit!!!!!!

but before you do take a look at my profile and see the scores i usually take and see just how many times i play this wonderful but frustrating at times game of golf

Darren  aka  (el bandito)

well done Daz, it was a pleasure playing round with you today with good banter and some exceptional golf (from you). A little more luck with the putter and it could have been REALLY special.

anyway well played and i'll see you next week.

stu

ps unlucky on the longest drive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice one Darren - lucky you took your proper camera along to witness it!  Cracking round round mate.  I shot a steady 36 pointer and missed out on the trophys again, 4th in the overall and 2nd on the second nearest the pin but had a good laugh with the irrepressable Slovac/Scouse/Glaswegian Marco.

For anyone in the Midlands?Yorkshire area who's not done one of Allan Bostocks CGL events get your names down.  Great bunch of blokes, good courses and good golf.

Well played Darren! take it you managed to keep one in play then Stu??

On Tim's note, if anyone is looking for a game on Saturday we have a great North League (Al's) vs Southern league (Russ's) event coming up. Whilst there are people playing from a variety of websites I think there are still spaces....especially for Russ's team. It's being played at Rutland County (PE9) so easily accessible.

9 hole par 3 comp, bacon rolls etc, 18 holes matchplay and a meal afterwards....all for about £30! See the events page for more info.

Well played Darren but 'bandit' is the only word for a 12 handicapper coming in (or going out) level par.
