My driver is illegal.....

Posted by: user133262 | Sun 5th Jul 2009 09:05 | Last Reply

Just been told by my golfing teacher that my cobra 400sz-hi core driver is now illegal....Damn i was hitting that well...lmao...oh well a new driver is needed before i turn up to play with some of you guys...Can't have you banning me after my first round....lol....

On another note, i've been told by fellow players that i should have my clubs shortened to suit my height (i was given a set of clubs years ago) will it make any difference? i very happy with them, and after my lesson's i have taken 6 shots off my handicap this year..I think i've answered this question myself...any thoughts?

p.s. i'm 5'6...no short arse comments please...

Thanks Nigel

Nigel, I have a legal 400 sz driver in my workshop that I came cross the day it has a cobra stiff shaft . If you play reg I can rebuild it with your shaft and correct length for you won't cost a lot of dollar either . PM if your interested.

DM that driver is way to long you would play it far better at 44" and rebalanced.

Nigel, a great offer from Leyo, an excellent clubmaker so it will be built properly.

In actual fact Leyo, his driving was the strength of his game at Sherfield last week, so chopping a few inches off would give us a better chance of beating him.

Well you've seen how well mine goes and thats built at 44" sw D4  and then i grip about 1 1/2

down the grip. My 3 wood is 42" and i grip down on that also.

Rebuilt a driver for David Homer with a different  shaft his feedback "Unbelievable mate, cracking 280 straighter than ever"

He doesn't even know his driver is now 44"(well he will now) It will give you far more control, you will hit the sweet spot more consitantly so hence average driving distance will go up.

No one is forcing you to make errors, David. Just because you have found a mug at Sherfield who is easy pickings does not mean you can afford to relax. South Winchester will test you.
