I've just had a hole in one
I'd resigned myself to not getting one but there you go.
It was on the 17th at Moorallerton, 140yd over a lake with bunkers at front, back and sides (a bit Augusta like).
I thought it was a mediocre 8 iron, a bit toeish and was going right of the pin so as it made the green I bent down to pick my tee up when my partner let out a cry so I missed the bugger going in.
In addition this brought me back to two over gross, however I had a penalty drop next hole for a double bogey so equaling my best at Moorallerton to date 75...not bad in the wind today.

A hole in one is always nice, but I bet the 75 felt so much better, Patrick. Well done.

John, you're right, I was happier with the possibility of a 73.

Congratulations on your first ever hole in one.
The 75 is also a score not to be sniffed at!
I've yet to hit a hole in one but I've been within inches twice, it will happen one day.
There are some nice trophies around to celebrate your achievement.
My father has one that looks like a number one with a bit cut out on the side for your ball to sit, looks very good.

Well done Patrick...i'm still dreaming.
I made middle of the green in 2 on a 503 yard par 5 today though so I am happy with that!
